Kids Page - Week 1

Choose an acitivity and bring your work to the Beijing Olympic Celebration Booth in the playground on any Friday before the end of August.

Every student who brings some Olympic themed work to the Booth will get a prize!

1. Colour in the Olympic Mascots

Download the mascot you wish to colour in - complete it and hand it in with a paragraph about what the mascots represent. You can use this link to do your research.

2. Design an Olympic Poster for the Dinner Dance

We will be displaying these at the Beijing Olympic Celebration for all the parents and teachers to see.

  2. The youngest ever Olympian is Greek gymnast Dimitrios Loundras, who competed in the 1896 Athens Olympics. He was 10 years old.
  3. The weirdest event has got to be poodle-clipping, from Paris in 1900. The record is trimming 17 poodles in just two hours!
  4. In wrestling, at the Stockholm Games in 1912 the light heavyweight final between a Swede and a Finn, lasted nine hours. Each received a silver medal.
  5. There are only two Olympic sports where men and women compete against each other, sailing and equestrian.
