What are the funds being used for?
A message from the Parents & Friends Committee
The annual Dinner Dance is the major fundraising activity of the P&F. Parents are naturally interested to know what we are raising the funds for...
In 2008, the parents of the school, through the P&F, resolved to pay an annual amount to the school, a small sum to our sister school in Waterloo (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) and to use any excess funds to upgrade the playground areas.
The annual amount normally paid to the school is approximately $40,000. This is used by the Principal to purchase items that cannot be covered by the school fees. Our donation to Our Lady of Mount Carmel is usually $5,000. Before 2008, any funds raised above $45,000 were used to pay down the school construction debt. But now, the excess funds will fund Project “Playground Upgrade”!!
Michael Gerrard from Urban Landscapes Projects started this exciting project development with:
- Stage 1 – The outdoor learning areas, and
- Stage 2 – The infants playground which is rapidly approaching completion.
- The gym equipment in the primary playground area will be resurfaced and upgraded next. This will be followed by Stage 3 in the main primary playground once the new school hall building works are complete.
The more money we raise, the more exciting we can make the playground areas for the benefit of the children of Sacred Heart Mosman – so your generous support of the Dinner Dance fundraising activities will be greatly appreciated.
